The AAYBA 2009 Open World Series (Missouri) will be played at the beautiful at Chesterfield Sports Complex, Founders Fields at Lake St Louis, and the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex. This year to address scheduling problems in the past we will schedule wide instead of deep which means we plan to end each day by no later than a 6:00pm start time. Inclement weather could push us later but otherwise we will be done earlier than in years past.
The entry fee for the St Louis, Missouri World Series event is $695 for a seven game format (all team will receive a minimum of seven games, weather permitting).

With the economy struggling we realize that every dollar saved is very important to each and everyone of you which is why we have implemented the following loyalty and promotional discounts for our 2010 participants. Most of these promotions have a deadline so please act quickly.
AAYBA does not guarantee the number of teams however, we expect 24-32 teams in all age groups with our 13U & 14U usually going to a waiting list at around 40-48 teams.
We feel that it is important to list a "Look Who is Coming"as it allows our participants to know well in advance what type of event they will be attending. There are too many National events that play "I've got a secret" regarding their list of teams, and in most cases that is a signal that the field of teams are low and that the event is in danger of cancellation. Whether our list is big or small we let you know BEFORE you get there what you can expect. In 2009 there were several World Series events that cancelled due to lack of teams. Late in the year I spoke with many teams that were in distress because their event cancelled at the last minute. At AAYBA we will post a "Look who is Coming" as always by no later than April 1st, 2010 for teams that have registered for all of our World Series events.
It is very important when considering a National or World Series event to find out who is attending and if they do indeed have the teams that they advertise. Do yourself a favor and print out the team list that is advertised by all of the National events you are considering, AAYBA included, and later compare them to who actually attended. You owe it to yourself and to your parents to have up to date information when choosing a post season tournament. Last year many events advertised teams that they simply did not have and in the end many teams found out too late to save their year end tournament. I assure you that we will post current and correct information, good or bad, so you can make an informed and intelligent decision regarding attending a 2010 AAYBA World Series event.

Early withdrawal: Any team pulling from the event for any reason, after your entry has been received will forfeit your entry ... no exceptions.
Special Start Requests: Before entering the AAYBA World Series, make sure your team has no other conflicts during the scheduled dates. AAYBA cannot guarantee any special game time requests! Local teams especially, we cannot and will not schedule you only in the evening. Teams need to be prepared to play at the first scheduled game of the tournament and any time throughout the day until the last game of the tournament. For those of you with more than one child participating and for coaches and managers coaching more than one team ... we cannot guarantee that your teams won't be playing at the same time. Managers, be sure to have another coach ready to cover you in case your teams are playing at the same time.
All teams must supply two new balls per game.
Registration: AAYBA will not reserve any spots in any tournament without full payment. To register and pay you must complete the online registration process - upon completion of registration you will be prompted to print a hard copy of the tournament application. This application has the mailing address for AAYBA as to where to mail your check. We do not accept credit cards. Teams that register online prior will have their spot held for seven days which will enable you ample time to mail your check. However, as the tournament comes closer to filling even registering online won't hold your spot as other teams may be in the same situation and their check may arrive first. Don't delay get your entries in ASAP.
World Series schedules will not be available in advance .... Schedules will be distributed to all managers at check-in and be available online the evening prior to check-in.
Each team must also present "proof of insurance" listing AAYBA as an additional insured. I assure you this is required by all National events and the additional insured is quite common. A copy of your insurance certificate will be required at check-in. You are free to purchase insurance from any company of your choice. However, we highly recommend Chappell Insurance Agency. Their rates are quite competitive and the insurance covers you for all events that you play in for a twelve month period.
All teams must present one of the following for age verification:
Original government issued Birth Certificate
Government issued "Certified Copy", with government seal
Original passport
Original USA immigration card
Original Military issued ID card (issued by the appropriate Department of Defense)

When an athlete fatigues or overuses a muscle, there is typically some type of microtear and bleeding with the muscles. Icing, or cryo-therapy is best used immediately after the injury or right after the athlete completes their performance. For example, it is recommended for a baseball pitcher, after throwing in a game or practice session, apply ice wraps immediately.
By applying the ice to the muscle group areas, the ice minimizes swelling and restricts the blood flow. The ice also reduces any pain and soreness associated with the injury or fatigue.
The Chilly-Billy™ ice compress provides a unique and patent pending apparatus that allows an athlete to put the icing jacket on, obtain effective and efficient coverage of all necessary muscle groups and it’s easy for one person to add the ice. The patented saddle compartment design and icing chute allows the ice to be added very easily. In fact, one person can fill the compartment with ice as the player is actually wearing the Chilly-Billy™ ice compress.
